 The Sir Ernest Shackleton Automatic is part of Kobold's Old Explorers Collection. In keeping with Kobold's heritage of making watches designed for polar expeditions, and in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of his legendary Endurance South Pole expedition, the Sir Ernest Shackleton Automatic pays tribute to the great polar explorer. It is a true masterpiece of watchmaking and features a U.S.-made case and a manufacture caliber with automatic winding mechanism.

Horological delights include the Kobold K.2651 in-house movement, based on a German manufacture movement designed in the 1960ies, a hand-finished American-made case with matte finish, as well as a retro-style dial, covered by five layers of paint to ensure durability and U.V.-resistancy. The attention to detail is emblematic of the exquisite nature of this timepiece.

The Sir Ernest Shackleton Automatic comes on a full-cut, genuine Louisiana alligator strap, which has been hand-stitched by German artisans. A signed, stainless steel buckle is securely fastened to the strap through a patented screw-locked system. The watch is accompanied by a large, wooden collector's box with space for two additional watches. Like all Kobold watches featuring U.S.-made components, the Sir Ernest Shackleton Automatic is covered by a 5-year warranty against material defects and faulty craftsmanship.
