Almost ten years after introducing the original Phantom Tactical Chronograph, Kobold is unveiling the Phantom Black Ops. The watch was designed with the help of U.S. Navy SEALs, who require a more stealth-like timepiece.

Assembled and tested in Kobold's facilities in Pittsburgh, the Phantom Black Ops features a stainless steel case entirely made in the USA. Hence, the Phantom Black Ops proudly displays its city and state of origin on its dial. The surgical-grade steel case is DLC-coated and matte black in appearance. On the dial, the subdials, chronograph hands and day/date display stand in reduced contrast to the main time display, while the luminous hands and hour markers are finished in a distinctive green color. As a result, the Phantom black Ops is the most legible chronograph Kobold has produced in its brief 13-year history.

Powered by a Swiss-made automatic chronograph movement (ETA-Valjoux 7750), which has been adjusted in five position, this unique military watch is not only reliable in adverse conditions, but also extremely accurate. The watch comes on a DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. Because the Phantom Black Ops features a U.S.-made case, it is covered by Kobold's 5-year warranty, instead of the 3-year warranty the company extends on its Swiss Made timepieces. The Phantom Black Ops arrives in a hand-crafted wooden collector's box.

For a limited time, the Phantom Black Ops Chronograph is available at an introductory price of $4,450. As part of this offer, the watch will come on a natural rubber strap. A black nylon "ZULU" strap with matching black DLC-coated metal fittings will also come with the watch. The introductory offer ends February 1st, 2012, at which point the price of the Phantom Black Ops will be $5,650 on a stainless steel bracelet.

*Please note the following product upgrade: After incorporating feedback from wearers "in the field", beginning December 15th all Phantom Black Ops will have a solid metal rotating bezel with engraved and hand-painted minute scale instead of the pictured aluminum insert with printed minute scale.
